Twice (Hangul: 트 와이스; Teuwaisu), formatted as TWICE, is a South Korean girl group formed by JYP Entertainment through the reality event SIXTEEN in 2015. Twice consists of nine members and several members from other countries. They are Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu. History of Twice
Twice consists of 9 members formed through the SIXTEEN survival competition. On December 19, 2013, JYP Entertainment's agency announced that it would debut a new girl group in the first half of 2014, as the first girl group to debut in the company since miss A in 2010. On February 27, 2014, JYP Lena and Cecilia trainees will be debut along with other members namely Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Jisoo (then Jihyo), and Minyoung. After Lena left the company, her position was replaced by Sana, and effectively canceled their debut in 2014 as planned. Then on February 11, 2015, Park Jin-young announced that the composition of the new girl group JYP would be determined through SIXTEEN, a survival competition that aired on
Mnet.
The official TWICE logo, introduced in the last episode of SIXTEEN. The event starts on May 5. Surprisingly, JYP announced that he would add the number of members from 7 to 9 members, and add Tzuyu (who was not previously elected) and Momo (which was eliminated in the previous episodes). This choice was controversial with many people protesting against the fact that eliminated participants could still join the group. After that, controversy slowly faded. First debut with the Story Begins Mini Album on October 7, 2015, JYP Entertainment launched the group's official website and announced via SNS that they will debut with the main song "Like Ooh-Ahh". This song is described as a song with elements of hip-hop, rock and R & B. This song was produced by Black Eyed Pilseung, who is known to have composed many successful songs such as miss A's song, "Only You."
On October 20, albums and music videos are released simultaneously online through the Naver V App. Twice held a showcase the same day, and performed "Like OOH-AHH" along with "Must Be Crazy" and "Do It Again." Video music has been watched by up to 50 million viewers within five months of its debut, and has become the most watched debut video music of any K-pop group. Even TWICE has signed 10 CF contracts totaling around 1.8 billion won. This is the highest number of any girl group since their debut.
Thanks to their extraordinary popularity, Twice finally made the second round at another musil event. And on April 25, 2016 Twice officially made a comeback with their main song "Cheer Up" which finally was able to reach 10 million viewers on YouTube within five days. The song "Cheer Up" was ranked first on Gaon Digital Chart and 3 on the Billboard World Digital Song. Victory continued on Music Bank and Inkigayo. The song "Cheer Up" received the title of Perfect All Kil from iChart, because it was ranked first on the entire Korean charts. Even "Cheer Up" also won the Song of the Year award at the 2016 Mnet Asian Music Award.
And on January 3, the music video "TT" has been watched as many as 100 million times and has become the fastest music video group k-pop that won that number. And finally on February 24, 2017 JYP Entertainment officially announced Twice will debut in Japan on June 28, 2017. Nayeon Profile

Jihyo Profile
Jihyo is not the oldest in Twice, but was appointed as a Leader. Jihyo officially joined the company on July 15, 2005, and became a trainee for 10 years. Jihyo is better known before debuting as an Innisfree "TN" teen model with Boyfriend and Nayeon boy groups. Before competing in the SIXTEEN, he was planned to debut on a girl group 6MIX along with teammates Nayeon, Jeongyeon and Sana. Jihyo also appeared in the music video miss A "Only You".
